Fairy Loot has done it again! The first time I ordered FL, I absolutely loved what I was sent and I knew that I was going to buy another box soon. When they announced their theme for July in their newsletter, I was intrigued. I don’t know many YA novels about pirates so I was curious to what kind of book they were going to sent. I’m not gonna lie, when they said that they were going to include an ARC, I was definitely on board. I’ve never received an ARC before so I’m still excited about that concept 😛.
In other news, I am extremely behind in my reading because I’ve been so obsessed with Pokemon Go. I’ve never taken so many walks outside, I don’t think anyone can imagine how this game has changed my life 😂. The addiction is real 😭.
Holla for subscription boxes that are taking over my life (and bank account). I decided to try out the Uppercase for the month of May. Uppercase is a YA monthly subscription box and the first thing I found on their website is that their rates are really affordable. They have one from 17$ (the book exclusive plan) which includes a hardcover book, a signed bookplate by the author, a reading experience exclusive to Uppercase readers and a personal handwritten note. Their second rate is 23$ (the expert plan) and it’s basically the same thing as the first one but you also get 2-3 additional bookish items. I chose the second one, of course, because I love them little bookish surprises (the sole purpose of why I get these boxes 😂).
In other news, I was really stressed these past months because I was anxiously waiting for the results of my nursing professional exam. It was basically an 8 hours (!!!!) written exam that would decide if I get to have my professional license and practice as a registered nurse in Quebec. I wasn’t super confident going in and leaving so I was extremely nervous to see what my results were. Needless to say, that constant stress kinda fuelled the book slump I mentioned about in my last post. Anyways, all that rambling that has nothing to do with the main topic is to tell you all that I recently got the results and I passed the exam which now makes me officially an RN! 🎉🎉🎉 The stress of waiting is now gone and I finally get to enjoy reading again 😌
Anyways, onto the review!
After trying out Fairy Loot, it made me want to try another subscription box so I immediately turned to Owl Crate. Owl Crate is a monthly YA subscription box that is quite popular in the book community and I’ve been thinking about buying a box for a while and when I saw they’re theme for April was dystopia, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to subscribe.
I’ve recently ordered the March box from a new subscription box called Fairy Loot. It was waiting for me on my doorstep, this morning. I was so excited to open it because the theme for March was retellings and I know I love them. I really like the concept of a subscription box, when I open one I feel like it’s my birthday 😂
