I’ve finally made it, friends. I’ve finally read this series that everyone’s seemed to have read ages ago 😂. I’ve heard about this series for a while and with the Netflix adaptations coming out, they all resurfaced. I watched the movies and really liked them, so I decided to give the books a try. I’m currently reading The Remnants Chronicles, but I needed something to really pick up my reading pace and give me some good old romance and heartbreak I freaking love in my YA books.

I never thought I would be reading this series because of how insanely bizarre this whole storyline seemed. I can’t watch The Bachelor, so I always thought that The Selection was going to be a no-go for me. But I was kind of desperate to get out of this reading slump and I needed something that would be quite the quick read and since I had purchased the first novel as an e-book when it was on sale, I decided to give it a go and I honestly was pleasantly surprised! Definitely taught me not to judge a story before trying to read it.

There are some spoilers in my review, so be advised if you haven’t read the books yet.

I screwed up 😂. When I decided to reread An Ember in the Ashes, I thought it was supposed to be a trilogy. Having already purchased the sequel when it was published, I told myself I could just by the third one and marathon the series. Only when I started to read the the first book and got well invested in it, I found out it was actually a quartet and that the last book is not coming out before APRIL 2020 😩. At least I am now caught up with one of the most popular YA series out there 😂.

Btw, in the new cover of An Ember in the Ashes, was I the only who never saw Elias until recently? 😂
